“Cozifythlon 2026” HAN RestAPI competition
We invite you to experiment and develop!
Are you interested in monitoring your home's electricity consumption in real time, building your own automations, or developing new ways to utilize energy data? The open RestAPI interface of the Cozify HAN device makes this possible! Now we invite all enthusiasts – especially slightly more advanced home users and DIY enthusiasts – to try out what you can do with the HAN device interface.
Participate in the Cozifythlon 2026 competition – the best ways to utilize RestAPI will be rewarded! Send your ideas to challenge@cozify.fi no later than March 1, 2026.
What is Cozify HAN RestAPI?
Cozify HAN is a Finnish electricity consumption and production reading device designed for Nordic conditions, which is connected directly to the HAN port of the electricity meter. The device has a built-in HTTP server (port 80), through which the RestAPI interface provides access to the meter's real-time readings - in phases, watts, amps, volts and much more.
Cozify HAN RestAPI is free of charge for consumer customers.
What can you do with the RestAPI interface?
Real-time electricity consumption monitoring: Get meter readings directly from the device and visualize consumption data in your own app or even in Home Assistant.
Building automation: Control home devices based on electricity consumption, production, or even the price of electricity on the exchange.
Developing your own user interface: Create a view of energy consumption that suits you – the possibilities are endless!
Examples of usage
Home Assistant integration: With Cozify HAN's RestAPI interface, you can import electricity consumption data directly into your Home Assistant system and utilize it in automations.
Custom dashboards and alerts: Create your own alerts when consumption exceeds a certain limit, or monitor the yield of your solar panels in real time.
Competition and community: Participate in the Cozifythlon 2026 competition – the best ways to utilize RestAPI will be rewarded! Send your ideas to challenge@cozify.fi no later than March 1, 2026.
How do you get started?
Get a Cozify HAN device and connect it to the HAN port of your electricity meter
Open a browser and try: http://COZIFY-HAN-OSOITE/meter – you will get a JSON-formatted meter reading directly from the device.
